FRIENDS OF POLLINATORS IN PETROUPOLI

On Saturday 15th February 2025 the BEELOSOPHY team was at the Social Garden of Petroupoli, an important initiative of the Municipality of Petroupoli and Organization Earth which strengthens resilience in the local community.

Together with sensitised citizens, we implemented an experiential Workshop for the Society of Bees.

We met the wise society of Bees and their rational way of functioning. We discussed the fundamental role of cooperation of all individual cells (Bees) for the functioning of the animal (Bee colony). We looked for practical ways in which each of us can protect the Bees. We did not fail to talk about honey, wax, propolis and the rest of the wondrous herbs of the hive and how they are created. Then, through an interactive exercise, we tasted some monovarietal honeys and learned the basics of sensory analysis (mini honey tasting).

The Workshop conveyed positive messages from the hive to us all and clarified ways in which we can contribute to a more sustainable future. At the same time, ideas and interest for other sustainable initiatives were stirred up.
